A Story of Love and Grace

We recently heard a very touching story from one of our previous couples, and we are so excited and honored to be able to share it with you. Melissa and Justin went through a very tough time prior to their wedding in November 2017, but also experienced a miracle. As a reminder of their special day at Rustic Grace Estate, they named their sweet blessing, “Sutton Grace.” The fact that we got to be a part of their beautiful journey and their life story means the world to us…

“In early 2010, I was living in Arlington with the man I had called my boyfriend for 3 years when I got the dreadful news that I had cervical cancer.  Soon after the news, he left me as he couldn’t deal with the diagnosis. I moved back in with my folks and focused on treatment.

Fast forward to 2014 when I met Justin.  I did and said everything to make this man not love this broken girl. I told him I didn’t know if the cancer was ever going to go away.  I told him having kids was likely not in the cards for me.  I told him he deserved better, but yet, he assured me he would stay.  And that he did.  I went thru countless biopsies and procedures to get rid of the cancer with this man by my side every step of the way.

In early 2016, I finally had my first clean biopsy, but my body had been through so much that we were told I would never likely be able to sustain pregnancy.  He decided that didn’t matter and he wanted to marry me anyway. So in the summer of 2016, we became engaged and started planning our small rustic country wedding.  We only visited ONE venue….. Rustic Grace Estate.  We fell in love with it and just knew this had to be the place we would get married, so we saved the date for 11/30/2017.

By that time, we had been trying to conceive almost 15 months and were disappointed with every negative that appeared on the tests.  We just decided to concentrate on the wedding, but God had other plans.  In February 2017, we found out unexpectedly that we were pregnant, and soon after learned we were having a baby girl! A couple of times we feared we would lose her, but on 10/10/2017 we brought our beautiful daughter into the world via emergency c-section.  We then came the realization we were getting married in 7 weeks and I had to get my dress altered and all final planning done. But we didn’t care about a thing because our beautiful Sutton Grace was here.  Her name was chosen with such precision; Nanna’s initials and “Grace” to commemorate our wedding venue that made our day possible.

On 11/30/2017, with our 100 closest family and friends, we said “I do” with our daughter as our maid of honor.  That day couldn’t have been more perfect.  Thank you, Rustic Grace, for making our wedding day the most beautiful day ever! Every day when we look at our daughter, we remember where it all started and where we commemorated our love for one another.”

Thank you, Melissa and Justin, for sharing your story with us. We will always remember your beautiful wedding day and how special it was, for more reasons than one! Congratulations, again, on your marriage and on your precious daughter, Sutton Grace!

I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
